ASAP members will earn credits for prior learning through achieving the Professional Administrative Certification of Excellence (PACE) towards Madison College’s Associate of Science Degree in the Administrative Professional Program
Portland, ME: September 26, 2016 —A new partnership between the American Society of Administrative Professionals (ASAP) and Madison College was jointly announced at the 24th Annual Administrative Professionals Conference in Chicago last week. The partnership allows students who earn PACE Certification to receive credit for prior learning towards their Administrative Professional or Medical Administrative Specialist associate degree programs at Madison College.
“This agreement provides those who earn the PACE Certification the next step in their professional development and educational goals. The advanced standing credits will decrease the amount of time and money students spend on the degree,” explained Karen Jennings, program director at Madison College. “Online students can complete the program at their own pace.”
Madison College’s Administrative Professional program prepares students with the software/hardware, administrative and interpersonal skills needed for today’s technical office. This career pathway includes an Office Assistant technical diploma and a Microsoft Office technical diploma.
The PACE Certification was developed by the American Society of Administrative Professionals to meet increased demand within the admin community for a modern Certification program. The PACE Certification gives admins the credentials they need to demonstrate mastery of critical skills and expertise. Hundreds of admins from the US and global admin community have enrolled in PACE since its launch in February 2016.
“ASAP’s partnership with Madison College is a tremendous opportunity for our members,” said Judy Geller, Executive Director of ASAP. “It opens the door for ASAP members who are enrolled in PACE, or who have already earned their PACE, to apply their knowledge and PACE credential towards their Madison College degree program. They can work one-on-one with a Madison College faculty advisor, take courses from instructors with real-world experiences in the field, and join discussions with professionals from around the world in an academic setting.”
The long-term benefits to admin professionals in earning their PACE Certification and an accredited associates degree include increasing their earning potential, staying current with the newest technology trends, enhancing their professional image, and having access to tools and knowledge necessary to be competitive in the workforce.
