What is the Career Stages Framework?

Informed by the American Society of Administrative Professionals’ (ASAP) State of the Profession Report, the Career Stages Framework helps admins understand where they are and where they could go.

At APC, we design every session and experience with this framework in mind to meet you where you are and help you move forward.

Assisting

This stage includes early-career APs, with a focus on foundational work such as scheduling and organizational communication.

Supporting

At this stage, APs build on Assisting tasks with greater autonomy, such as managing projects and handling more complex day-to-day operations.

Partnering

Here, the focus shifts from primarily tactical to more strategic contributions. APs at this stage collaborate on business plans, manage large projects, and may oversee teams.

Leading

This stage is where APs own large-scale initiatives. They advise senior executives as trusted business partners, lead strategic systems and teams, and drive innovation.
